Fantastic honeymoon in islands of the Maldives
If your idea of a fantastic honeymoon does not include sea and sand (come on, some people hate the beach) then Chiang Mai is an immense city for a fun, yet romantic honeymoon. In Chiang Mai, you can reside at one of a whole slew of four and five star hotels at a fraction of the cost of similar hotels in Bangkok. Chiang Mai also has a lot to keep you eventful, if you’re not in a relaxing temper – including trips to an elephant camp, raft riding, trekking in the mountains, visiting hill tribe villages, shopping at the umbrella factory or the jade factory, buying gorgeous yet cheap souvenirs at the night market, or just enjoying your honeymoon around the hotel pool. The nearby national parks include Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, Doi Pui Suthep and Obkhan. Approximately 60 km (37 mi) north of the city or about one hour drive, the Elephant Nature Park is home to approximately 30 rescued elephants. You can visit the park with options ranging from a day trip to volunteering. Chiang Mai is a extraordinary city, the favorite of many Thais and westerners alike and, once visited, you’re not likely to ever forget it.
