Rome - Modern and Old, Past and Present go side by side, all the time

Rome, the eternal city, has awed its visitors for two millennial. Founded, according to legend, by Romulus and Remus in 753 B.C., Rome was first the center of the Roman Republic, then of the Roman Empire, and it became the capital of the Christian world in the 4th century. Its ruined antique monuments, many of them concentrated near the former Roman Forum, represent a point of reference for a city that has undergone many transformations through the Imperial, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods, producing in the process an archeological record of amazing density that matches the richness of the history and legends. Today Rome is Italy's vibrant capital. Since, according to a saying, a lifetime is not enough to discover everything it has to offer, you can make sure you will return to Rome by tossing a coin over your shoulder in the Trevi Fountain. The Historic Center of Rome is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. no other city offers such a wide range of classical antiquities, palaces from the Renaissance and Baroque churches.

Vancouver - One of the Best Cities for the Standards of Living

Vancouver is a sparkling city nestled in a beautiful setting between sea and mountains. It consistently ranks in the top 5 world cities (and the top in North America) for the standards of living. A tram carries visitors from the outskirts of the city to ski areas, while unlike in San Francisco, much further South, the water is warm enough for beach-goers to actually swim. The natural harbor setting has allowed its port to become North America's busiest on the West Coast. Because the surrounding mountains and ocean limit the real estate, Vancouver's downtown in dominated by residential and commercial high-rise buildings, although there are also areas of brick buildings and old lamps such as Gas town, known for its steam clock, the world's first. Reflecting its ethnic diversity, Vancouver's china town is the second largest in North America (after San Franciso's). one of North America's largest, Queen Elizabeth Park. and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
