Waikiki, The Hawaiian for "Sprouting Water" Beach

Waikiki is known as the Hawaiian for "Sprouting Water" beach. Waikiki beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world. Its warm waters and rolling surf have been attracting large numbers of visitors since 1901, when the first large tourist hotel, the Moana, opened for business. It is the best travel destination for any kind of vacation that is the two mile stretch of white sand coast and fronted by hotels and tourist facilities.

More importantly, this is also where we will find the surfing waves that Waikiki Beach is famous for. But regardless of how we want to pass the time, the concessionaires along the beach will have something for us to do, from renting surfboards, to outrigger canoe and catamaran rides.
Just remember, that during the summer months Waikiki Beach experiences very high surfs, which can be dangerous to the inexperienced swimmer. So stay close to the shore, and mind the Lifeguards.

Getting to Waikiki is very easy. Oahu has Hawaii’s major airport: Honolulu International Airport. It’s not just the beach though: Check out nearby Kapahulu for local culture and, in particular, the famous malasada, a delicious doughnut, then go shopping at the renowned Kapiolani Farmers’ Market with excellent locally produced produce such as Hawaiian papaya and regional delicacies, and, if you haven’t got one yet, buy the loudest Hawaiian shirt you can find.

Copacabana, The Most Popular Beach at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

When one said about the world famous beach in the world, so the first coming to mind is Copacabana beach (Praia de Copacabana). Copacabana is the best travel destination that located within the city confines of Rio de Janeiro, this four kilometer strip of beach serves up an animated menu of activities and sights as lengthy as its coastline. Possibly the most famous stretch of sand in the world, Copacabana beach is synonymous with the hedonistic side of Rio – with sun, sea, beautiful bodies and New Year celebrations on the beach.
Swimming in its crystal blue waters, tanning in its sun baked sand, kicking around a futbol in a game of sand soccer or beach volleyball, with or without your hands, can all be deliciously tempting your round (though June-August does see its share of rain) at this prominent South American retreat.
Copacabana is named after the conspicuous (you can’t miss it) and still distinguished Copacabana Palace Hotel which opened in 1920, to this day attracts the rich and famous.

The allure of the wide, white sand beach, the affable locals or Cariocas, round the clock parties, bikini clad beauties (don’t worry ladies there’s a pile of bronzed back beef cake too) sumptuous restaurants, lively bars and music and night clubs all at very reasonable prices, will instantly gain and keep attention through out your stay.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA: WHERE YOU CAN FIND GOOGLEPLEX

Mountain View, in California is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The Silicon Valley lies in the South Bay and the southern Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. Once best known for its prune orchards, the area underwent explosive growth with the creation of the high-tech industry in the 1960s. Although much of the area suffers from the suburban sprawl typical of much of the western United States, it still has some remarkable charm. The nearby Santa Cruz mountains make for a welcome respite from bustling 21st-century cyberliving.
Mountain View is one of the major cities that make up Silicon Valley, and has many notable Silicon Valley companies either headquartered there or with a large presence, including AOL, Google, Nokia and Microsoft.
Mountain View is located 10 miles north of San Jose and 35 miles south of San Francisco. Mountain View began as a stagecoach stop and agricultural center. The town was incorporated in 1902 with a population of fewer than 1,000 people. After World War II, Mountain View experienced a population boom as the electronic and aerospace industries grew. Today, the city's population is estimated to be 72,200. Mountain View's key attractions include the Shoreline Amphitheater and Moffett Field.

Downtown Mountain View is considered one of the most successful redevelopment efforts in the region. It's a model for how a city can reclaim its core and provide residents with an attractive, pedestrian-friendly district for shopping, dining, entertainment, cultural events and social activity.
There is one special street in Mountain View that you should visit, that is Castro Street. Castro Street is a charming district full of ethnic diversity and interesting local businesses. Although there is a strong Asian prescense among restaurants and shops, many different cultures are represented along these blocks. There is a weekly farmer's market and on certain Thursdays it is home to a great street fair with vendors and a classic car show. Also convenient access from public transportation by way of several trains and busses. If you live near this area or in most of Mountain View, Google provides free Wi-Fi internet all over (it's fast too). Castro Street is also the main downtown area with many restaurants and bars. East and South Asian food is available in abundance, but it is by no means the only choice. Watch the hours of operation; most restaurants in Mountain View are not open very late. A good list of restaurants in Downtown Mountain View can be found here.

    Washington D.C. Travel Guide

The capital of the United States of America is a city live with contradiction and irony. Beautiful monuments to our history exist steps away from what are indeed very poor areas. The city that professes to lead the free world is not allowed to govern itself, and has a history plagued with corruption. Of the United States but not a state itself, the District of Columbia occupies a unique niche in American culture, the city whose purpose by design (for better or worse) is to rule.

Historical monuments, museums, and government buildings abound in Washington. Around the Mall, a park in the center of the city, you can find the US Capitol building, the museums of the Smithsonian, the National Archives, the White House, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. Across the Potomac river in Virginia are the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. Just to the northeast of Washington in Maryland, an easy car ride away, is another great city, Baltimore. The Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean are easily accessible. The city and the surrounding suburbs in Maryland and Virginia have an active and exciting night-life. There are clubs, bars, and theaters to satisfy any taste and restaurants of nearly every type in existence.

Although technically located in the South, Washington is a very cosmopolitan city and in fact bears little resemblance at all to the rest of the US. To most Americans DC is a fascinating place to visit, teeming with politics, diplomacy, history, and scandal. Those of us who live "inside the Beltway" by choice wouldn't have it any other way.

    Alaska Travel Guide

Alaska is very beautiful and has so many things to do and places to go. From the highest peaks of Mt.McKinley to the miles of coastline that seem to go on forever.

Everywhere you turn there are thickly wooded areas teaming with wildlife of all types. Free, majestic eagles soar overhead and the Aurora Borealis dance across the sky.

One of the most important events is the Iditarod Dog Sled Race, a race that runs from Anchorage to Nome every year.

One of the best ways to visit Alaska is by cruise ship. As many cities and towns in Alaska do not have roads to them, the only way to reach them is by sea or air.

    Arizona Travel Guide

Arizona is located in the South West of the United States. It is a landlocked state and for a large part covered by desert. These deserts are one of the main attractions.

Phoenix the capital is an easy going city and a good base for exploring the rest of the state. Arizona is still asociated very much with the spirit of the wild west. For anyone interest in the the 1880s, when gunfighters stalked throughout southern Arizona, a visit to Tombstone is a must. The Grand Canyon national park is located in the North of Arizona, it is without a doubt the most visited attraction of the state.

A must see for all visitors to the Southwest; which was rated the "Most Beautiful Place in America", is none-other than the enchanted land of Sedona.

Navajo National Monument offers a unique insight in the precolumbian cultures of this region. The houses the cliffdwellers made here are truly impressive.

Sierra Vista is a cracked out little town south of Tucson by about 70 miles. It's full of weirdos and bizzaro people. A newcome luminary is "BibleMan", aka "Bible-Biker". He's an elderly bum who rides a bicycle covered in buckets scrawled with jesus things. He is frequently spotted infront of the Jack In The Box restaurant on Fry Blvd, barking at passing traffic and carrying a child-sized acoustic guitar.

    Kansas Travel Guide

Kansas is an almost rectangular shaped state at the geographic center of the United States. Wichita, the state's largest city, is home to many of the world's aerospace companies and has earned the nickname of "Air Capital" for this. Topeka is the state's capitol and is home to many of the state's governmental agencies. Kansas City also is halfway in Kansas and is a large metropolitan center.

Tallgrass Prairie preserves the natural habitat of the Prairies. Of the 400,000 square miles of tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American Continent, less than 1 percent remains, primarily in the Flint Hills.

Other sights include Fort Larned on the banks of the Arkansas river and Fort Scott which witnessed a decade of rapid westward expansion in the 1840s followed by civil strife and unrest in the 1850s that brought about the deadliest conflict of US history - the Civil War.

In the northwest of Kansas, Nicodemus is a unique historic site. It is the only remaining western town established by African Americans during the Reconstruction Period following the Civil War.

Kansas is windy and flat and an ideal location for a huge wind farm with hundreds of wind turbines in Gray County.

The Road To Oz does exist in Kansas and it leads to The Oz Museum in Wamego Kansas.

    Hawaii Travel Guide

The Hawaiian Islands are one of the most beautiful places on earth. The weather is friendly. The temperature ranges from 60-90 degrees all year long. It's a little warmer in summer, and a little cooler in winter, but every day is a beach day for somebody.

The environment is friendly. The physical beauty of Hawaii is almost unparalleled. Majestic mountains were created millions of years ago by volcanic activity that thrust these islands three miles from the ocean floor. Wave action across endless eons of time created coral reefs, and then battered and broke them to create miles of white sand beach. Our position at the center of the Pacific ensured that almost every plant and animal who would find a home here would come as an invited guest.

There are no strangers in Paradise. Perhaps the most beautiful part of Hawaii is the genuine warmth of our people. We call it the spirit of Aloha. It has allowed a melting pot of cultures from all over the world to find common ground, and a new home, in this most gentle of places.

    Mount Rushmore Travel Guide

You may remember in history class the pictures of Mount Rushmore, but being there seeing it up close is a whole different story. You got to think how the heck Gutzon Borglem made this sculpture and the many years to do it and it still is not completed. Your body shiver as you stand there looking at this massive piece of art, you can feel the patriotism.. Looking from Mount Rushmore National Memorial you san see the badlands as far as the eyes can see.The badland are a wonderful and breathtaking. Made up of acres and acres of sharpy eroded buttes. Everywhere on the ground you will see fossils. I had the opportunity to go Over the badlands in a helicopter years back, I was amazed of how huge The Badland really was, they strech for miles. you will see many different types of wildlife, more antelop and prairie dogs than anything. Wall Drug just east of the Badlands is world known and has history behind it .. but it is a trap., all I think it is is a novelty and souvenier shop and mini Museum, the price seem to be very reasonable your curiosity's will have you stopping in, The rest areas are very nice and full of friendly people Throughout the state. Try to visit S. Dakota the begining of August during the Sturgis bike rally makes the trip
more enjoyable everywhere you go you see bikes (harleys). and be sure to stop into the crowded town of Sturgis.

A long boardwalk has been built at the base of Mt. Rushmore which gives you many different views of Mt. Rushmore. Openings have been made in the trees along the boardwalk such that at times you can see only one of the four presidents. Enjoy a meal at the Mt. Rushmore Cafe where you can eat while looking at the four presidents. Several wild animals such as deer and mountain goats roam free around the area.
