Munnar

Munnar is an asylum of peace and harmony. Munnar is incredibly beautiful and one of the amazing gods own destined country.Positioned at a height of 6000ft in the Idukki district, Munnar is the most privileged summer resort. This was a significant resort even during the British monarchs in those colonial days.

Munnar is opulent with alien species of flora as well as fauna. With an extensive stretch of tea plantations amidst the high mountains and unspoiled valleys, Munnar gives a very pleasant feeling. The scented cool air is filled with the aroma of spices. The rising and falling terrain of Munnar is covered with forests and grasslands.

The undulated topography offers a breathtaking vision of craggy rocks and adds to the picturesque scenery as nothing has been altered and captivates the tourists with its beauty. Prominent and various trees are found in Munnar. Some of the prominent trees are teak, red sandalwood, rose wood, jungle jack, etc. Munnar is a paradise for bird watchers as rare species of birds are found in abundance.

Cocooned in the Kerala State, Munnar poses a breathtaking scenery amidst the thriving green tea plantations with the combination of valleys, streams, cliffs, bubbling brooks, exotic wildlife and the clear trout streams make Munnar an irresistible place.

Tourists will find it mandatory to visit all these places that are rich in natural wealth and relax in the abundance of this serene beauty, the gods’ paradise.
Accommodation facilities and tourist guides are available easily suiting the budgets.

Thekkady

Thekkady is one of the important tourist destinations in India. Thekkady is located in Iddukki district of Kerala in a distance of 160 miles from Thiruvanandpuram. The place has gained utmost popularity and is well known for wildlife preservation.

It is unique and abundantly rich with flora, fauna and varied ranges of birds that cannot be seen in any other wildlife sanctuaries. In Thekkady, one can watch wildlife in a close range. Thekkady wildlife sanctuary offers unique opportunity to watch and film the wildlife while they are in action. Thekkady is a paradise with its natural scenic beauty, clear waters and the serene atmosphere literally captivates the visitors.

The man made Thekkady Lake with its partially submerged trucks became the synonym of Thekkady. Thekkady is situated about 4000 ft above sea level. It is a perfect holiday destination with its unique chill weather, endless scenic beauties, aroma of spice plantations and friendly people. Thekkady provides various opportunities for adventurous tourism such as trekking, wildlife train, bamboo rafting, border hiking and rock climbing.

Thekkady is well connected by buses from both Kerala and Tamilnadu. There are regular bus services to Thekkady from Madurai, Kumbam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrivanandpuram and various other locations. Government agencies such as TDC, KTDC and TTDC arrange package tours to Thekkady on regular basis. There are number of hotels and lodges located at Kumuli and Thekkady providing good accommodation facilities.

Kovalam

Situated 16 kms from the Capital of Kerala is a city with four sandy bays called Kovalam. The meaning of Kovalam is 'groove of coconut trees. It is a beach resort. The spectacular beach resort in 1930's broke the shackles and emerged as the most magnificent tourist attraction in the south. In earlier days it was just a paradise and not a lot of tourists, but then it was developed as a great tourist spot and then there was no looking back. The four sandy beaches are just a sight of paradise; all the four bays are separated by rocks.

The Samudra Beach, Kovalam Beach, Hawa Beach and the light house beach are what gives Kovalam its beauty and attention of the tourists. Kovalam is the most famous place for Ayurvedic massage and many yoga resorts. Meditation and herbal body toning is also very famous and available easily and all around the beaches. A number of cultural programs are also organized in abundance and one of the main attractions is the catamaran cruise. Kovalam can be visited at anytime in the year.

You can go shopping in Kovalam and buy a number of items like handicrafts and spices. Rose wood and teak wood statues are popular at Kovalam beach. There are a number of shopping places lined across the beach.

Kovalam is a beautiful tourist spot and tourists flock all year long but would advise not to visit during the Monsoon which starts from June to October. The sea is high and the beaches will be found drowned in the high sea.

It is approachable by air, train and road routes. The nearest airport is at Trivandrum which is 16 kilometers away. The nearest rail junction is also at Trivandrum and is connected extremely well to all main roads in south India.
Varkala

Varkala is a town that is located along the coastal regions of the State of Kerala in the Thiruvanathapuram District. Varkala is a place where the hills are located close to the sea. There are many natural fishers and springs that are located in the town and this has become a favored tourist destination. The beaches are relatively untouched and they are clean as well. Papanasam Beach is one of the main beaches in the place and there is a temple called the Jannardana Swamy Temple that is located nearby. This temple is over 2000 years old and it is one of the main attractions of the place.

The temple is home to an old bell that was taken from an ancient shipwreck of a Dutch Freighter.Varkala Beach is a popular beach and there are various activities such as paragliding and parasailing that can be experienced at this beach. There are a few restaurants that are located nearby as well. Kapil Lake is another tourist site that is located nearby. Anjengo Fort is a historic place that is located nearby and it is a popular destination for many tourists. Varkala Tunnel and the Lighthouse are also interesting places to visit.

Trivandrum

Trivandrum, also known as Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of Kerala. Trivandrum is fenced by the Arabian Sea towards the west and Tamil Nadu in the east. The Western Ghats are full of wooded highlands giving an enchanting appearance and making it one of the excellent picnic spots.

Trivandrum has exotic and renowned beaches, a very long shoreline, backwater stretches, historic monuments and rich cultural heritage.

Trivandrum is a holy place with lots of temples with excellent architectures and are very prominent all over the world. The temples inflict Dravidian and South Indian architecture. Trivandrum is a notable place for maintaining its heritage, culture and customs.

Trivandrum's beach resort and beaches are one of the secluded places for visitors to halt. They celebrate their festivals in a grandeur, exhibiting their typical traditions. Even today some of the prominent temples adhere to old principles and stick to traditional attire as well. Its pristine beaches provide absolute relaxation.

The climate is very pleasant in Trivandrum and as there are many places to visit, it serves as an ideal place for holiday. With numerous attractions, mostly the time looks short. Every place in Trivandrum is worth visiting as each destination has its own specialty and is unique.
